Business Development Manager

The Job
 

The Business Development Manager is responsible for taking qualified leads and engaging with prospective customers to understand their needs and demonstrate how the Maximise IT products and services can enhance their business processes. The Business Development Manager will lead the process from initial meetings through to closing the business, ensuring that every aspect of the sales process is managed.

 

This is a field sales role which would be based in Bristol. For the right candidate we are open to discussing remote working within the UK with weekly travel to the office in Bristol. As a field sales role the Business Development Manager would be expected to make regular visits to customers across the South-West and the UK.



Key Responsibilities

​•    Developing new business – approaching companies within both the private and public sectors
•    Providing a consultative, bespoke sales process by applying product knowledge to satisfy customer’s specific needs
•    Advising on software features and how they can be applied to assist in a variety of contexts
•    Preparing and delivering customer presentations and demonstrations of the software
•    Developing and executing sales strategy to deliver a strong pipeline and ultimately achieve and exceed both personal and team targets
•    Building strong relationships with customers, ensuring a consistently high level of satisfaction with the service delivery and identifying new opportunities as they arise

 


Additional Responsibilities

Key Experience & Skills

•    A proactive approach to sales; with demonstrable experience in winning new business and managing the sales process from beginning to end
•    Experience selling technology products or services or a technical background in IT/Telecoms.
•    Proven ability to build a strong network, identify new clients and develop relationships within client organisations, at all levels
•    Advanced negotiating skills with experience in agreeing contracts with customers
•    Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical information in an concise, understandable manner 
•    A knowledge of contemporary technology and IT. Specific knowledge of RPA and automation is particularly valuable 
•    Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
•    The ability to manage your time and plan your day effectively
•    The capability to write short reports and proposals
•    The capacity to work well on your own or in a team



Other Requirements/ Qualifications

•    Ideal candidate will have a degree (2:1) or above, ideally, but not necessarily, in a technical subject 
•    Full driving licence

Competitive base salary (depends on experience) plus bonus scheme and benefits package.
